John “Jack” Flannery, Sr., age 87, past resident of Frankfort, IL, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, June 29, 2022. He was born on April 9, 1935, in Chicago, IL. Beloved husband of 56 years and best friend of the late JoAnn Flannery (Brow); Dearest father of JoAnn (Dan) Krause of New Berlin, WI and John L. Flannery, Jr. of Elgin; Cherished grandfather of Jeffrey, Jacqueline, Matthew, John III and Katherine, Great grandfather of Addison, Sawyer and Everett. Dear son to the late George and Bernice (O’Connell) Flannery; loving brother of Donald “Tick” (Kathie) Flannery, late Robert (late Mary) Flannery, late James (late Mary) Flannery and late Bernice (late Ed) Gaffney; fond brother- in- law to Thomas (Pattie) Brow, the late James and late Sister Mary Leontia, R.S.M.; Fond uncle of many nieces and nephews and dear friend of Marie Stosur.
Jack was a great husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He was an amazing caretaker of his wife until her end with compassion and love.
Jack lit up every room he entered with his great smile and cheerful personality. He was a charter member at Prestwick Country Club and loved his years at the club making friends and playing golf. Jack was “Big Guy” to all of his friends.
Jack spent his final years at St. Camillus Memory Care in Milwaukee battling Alzheimer’s disease with strength and grace. A special thanks to the staff at St. Camillus Memory Care for their compassion and care of Jack.
A Celebration of Life Mass will be held on Wednesday, July 6th at the Guardian Angels Chapel at 10:30 AM at St. Camillus located at 10101 W. Wisconsin Avenue, Milwaukee, WI
Funeral services and visitation will be held on Thursday, July 7th at St. Anthony's Church located at 7659 West Sauk Trail, Frankfort, IL. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Good Shepherd Catholic Cemetery located at 16201 South 104th Avenue, Orland Park, IL.
Memorials donations in Jack’s name to the Everett E. Krause Fund/Neurosurgery Fund at Childrens Hospital Wisconsin, 8915 W. Connell Court., Milwaukee WI 53226 would be appreciated.
