Orland Park Illinois — John Conrad Dudley, 100, died Friday, August 22, 2025, at Smith Crossing.
He leaves his wife of 77 years, Jean Eloise (Murphy) Dudley. He is reunited in Heaven with his 1st born daughter Susan Dudley. Loving father of Deborah Farkas, Jane (Michael) Gross, and Jon Dudley (Janice). Cherished grandfather to Laura, Sarah, John and Jeanna. Cherished great-grandfather to Mia, Mikey, Madison and Margot.
Born and raised in Millersville, Ohio, the son of John Dudley and Mary Dudley (Daly). He was drafted in World War II where he spent 3 years. John was preceded in death by his four sisters and four brothers.
John joined the Herbrand Corporation not long after discharge and moved his young family to Olympia Fields, Illinois when he was transferred with Herbrand. He worked for many years in Chicago in the heavy forge business ending as a dual Plant Manager with Rockwell International, before retiring. John and Jean enjoyed many years as members of Olympia Fields Country Club, and they also vacationed in the winter in Naples Florida. They were both avid golfers well into their late 80s. John and Jean moved to Frankfort, Illinois in the late 90s where they resided until moving to Smith Crossing in 2016.
