John E. Cumbee "Bud"

John "Bud" Edward Cumbee Sr., age 90, of Frankfort, IL passed away Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at home surrounded by his family. Bud and his wife of 47 years, Dorothy "Pat", brought together two families. He was Bud, Dad, Papaw, Grandpa and Uncle Bud to his family and friends. His family was the core and centerpiece of his life.

Bud was born in Hopkinsville, KY June 28, 1936, to the late John Leman and the Late Sarah Evelyn (nee Yontz) Cumbee. Bud is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy "Pat" (nee Hill), sister Marilyn (Jim) Mcllvoy, daughters Connie (Dave) Mezera, Debbie (Jim) Jett, Vicky (Bill) Roach, Sue (Russ) Jones, Kathy (Justin) Hassert, sons John III (Cynthia), Tom (Karen), Greg (Patricia) Mensik, 20 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Bud is preceded in death by sons John Jr. and Kevin Michael, sisters Wanda Christenson and Judy Sierakowski.

Family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort, IL 60423 on Saturday, August 29, 2026, from 10:00 AM until time of funeral service at 12 PM
