Age 83, a resident of New Lenox, passed away on Friday, April 12, 2024. Joanne was born in Chicago, IL, on September 27, 1940, to the late John and Joanne Hunter (Jallits).
Beloved wife of the late Irwin Eaton; loving aunt to Sean (Lisa) Didion, Wilhelm Walke, Erika (Gerald) Delaney, Cari Didion, Heidi Leerkamp (Justin), Jami (Scott) Demuth; also survived by her dear cousin Lori Kotheimer. Cherished great aunt to many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her siblings Nancy (late James) Didion and Roseann (late Wolfgang) Walke. Joanne was an eternal optimist and loved meeting new people. She leaves behind many friends, some of whom she met while she traveled the world.
Joanne was employed for over forty years at First National Bank, Chicago. She was a member of the Joliet Garden Club, the CCW, an usher at St. Mary Catholic Church, and enjoyed spending time with her great-nieces and nephews. Joanne loved to spend time outdoors gardening.
Services for Joanne will be held on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 with a visitation at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 19515 115th Ave. in Mokena, from 10am until the time of mass at 11am. Joanne will be laid to rest at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Mokena. In lieu of flowers donations to Lightways Hospice would be appreciated.
