Jo-Ann V. Tratnik (Raines)

 Age 87, of Frankfort IL passed away peacefully on July 14, 2026 at home. Jo-Ann was born in Chicago to the late Stephen Rayko and Mary (nee Belin) Rayko.

Jo-Ann lost her husband Thomas R Raines in 1971, was widowed at the age of 33, and left with five children under the age of 10. She made it her life’s work to raise them to adulthood, and she left this world knowing that she had succeeded in her task.

She is preceded in death by her three siblings, brothers Stephen and Matthew Rayko, and her sister and best friend Lorraine Olliffe, who passed away on May 14th - they were only apart for two months. She is survived by her children, Steven Raines (Betsy), Susan McMahon (Donald), Sandra Salwierak, Samuel Raines and Tommi-Ann Raines. She was loved by her grandchildren Thomas Raines, the late Samantha Raines, Steven T Raines II, Rachel Ambrose, Jo-Ann Salwierak, Nicole Salwierak, Robbie Salwierak, Carli Salwierak, Samuel Joyce, Luke McMahon, Peter Schmakel and Nicholas Raines. Jo-Ann was also the proud great-grandmother of Michael Raines, William Raines, Matthew Raines, Mac Ambrose, Vinnie Ambrose, Ella Ambrose, Luka Raines and Mila Raines, and the loving Aunt of many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 19515 115th Avenue, Mokena IL 60448 on Thursday August 6th at 10:00 AM.  Interment will be private.
