Jennie G. Buhs (nee DiCristina), age 71, passed away peacefully surrounded by love on February 17, 2026, after a long battle with cancer.
Beloved wife of Robert M. Buhs; Cherished and loving Mother to Gina (Tom), and Beau, (Jaclyn); cherished grandmother to Ava Grayce, Owen, and Zoe; devoted sister of Frank DiCristina (Suzi)and stepsister of Debra (and the late Michael) Pearl.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank Sr, and Ruby DiCristina and stepbrother Raymond Zawodniak.
Jennie’s life was remarkable in many ways and how she lived it. Always evolving, she embraced change and challenges with grace and courage. She was kind and gentle, yet strong in her values and beliefs. And most notably, Jennie was a woman of strong Catholic faith, and her faith is not something she simply practiced but it was the very foundation of who she was.
Jennie was the rock of her family – steadfast, strong and full of love. She led by example, offering wisdom, warmth and endless generosity. Everyone who met Jennie adored her. She will be remembered for her kindness, her unselfish contributions, contagious joyful spirit and a deep, unwavering love for her family and friends. She will always be remembered and always loved.

Wake: Wednesday February 25, 2026, from 3PM until 8PM
Funeral: Prayers at funeral home 9:20AM on Thursday February 26, 2026
Church: 10AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 19515 115th Avenue, Mokena, IL. 60448
