Janet Elizabeth (Feil) Gullicksen
At the age of 86, Janet passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, Lee’s Summit, MO. She is survived by her children: Lyndell (Norman) Simmons, Lisa (Jeffrey) Brown and John (Susan) Gullicksen, her grandchildren: Nathan Ends, Emily (Luis) Contreras, Joshua (Holly) Brown, Jacob (Nicole) Brown, Rachel Gullicksen (Whitt Sherrill) and Tanner Gullicksen, her 8 great grandchildren: Xavi Contreras, Riley Brown, Harper Brown, Piper Brown, Nova Brown, Benjamin Brown, Miles Brown and Riften Sherrill and her identical twin sister: Judy (Bruce) Damerell, sister-in-laws: Helen Ann (Gary) Mings and Elaine (Don) Bensema and numerous nieces and nephews.Preceded in death by her husband: Dale W. Gullicksen, her parents: Arthur J. & Millicent C. Feil, her brother-in-law: Lucky Gullicksen and nephew: William “Billy” Gullicksen. Born in Chicago IL, raised in New Lenox, lived in Plainfield for 25 years before moving back to New Lenox. Janet retired from the Lakewood Nursing & Rehabilitation Center after working 25 years as an RN and Director of Nursing. She was a compassionate geriatric nurse who graduated from the Silver Cross School of Nursing. Although Janet had a nursing career, she was a devoted homemaker. For her enjoyment she was a gifted knitter and enjoyed other sewing/handwork arts. She loved her family and had some very special life long friendships. Janet was also a member of the Plainfield United Methodist Church. She accepted Jesus as her a Lord and Savior and her family takes comfort knowing she is at peace with Jesus. Family will receive family and friends Friday, February, 14, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Kurtz Memorial Chapel in New Lenox IL, with a memorial service to follow. Interment Maplewood Cemetery, New Lenox.
