James S. Downey, age 93, a resident of Kankakee formerly of Bourbonnais and Chicago, passed away on Sunday, October 3, 2021 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. Loving husband of the late Mary Downey; beloved brother of the late William (late Jeanne) Downey and the late Patrick (late Marian) Downey; dearest uncle of Maureen Johnson, Laura Gignac, Kathleen (Lance) Steinberg, late William Downey and Lynda Fahey; fond great uncle of many. James was a veteran of the United State Marines Corp. Services for James will be held privately. Funeral arrangements handled by Kurtz Memorial Chapel, Frankfort www.kurtzmemorialchapel.com or 815-806-2225
