James William Griffin, Jr.

85, of Mokena, passed away at his home with his loving family at his side. James was born on September 12, 1940, in Chicago, Illinois to the late Mildred Eastman and James Griffin, Sr., the first of three children.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 53 years, Grace Griffin (nee Lullo).

Loving father of Kimberly Trewhella, Steven (April) Griffin, and Mark (Kim) Griffin; cherished grandfather of Kira (Mike) Sztym, Carissa Quasny (Domenic O’Neill), Kyler Quasny and Kate Griffin; cherished great-grandfather of Logan and Luke Marks.

He is survived by his two brothers, Gerald Griffin and Raymond Griffin, along with many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.

The family will receive family and friends for a Memorial Visitation at Kurtz Memorial Chapel at 65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort, IL on Thursday, May 14, 2026 from 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm then to Abraham National Cemetery, Elwood, for interment at 2:30 pm.

He proudly served in the US Army from October, 1963 through October, 1965, then went into the US Army Reserves until he was honorably discharged in October, 1969.
