Ina L. Eriksen

Ina Louise Eriksen, aged 80, passed away on June 29, 2024, in Fort Myers, FL. Born on August 2, 1943, Ina dedicated 31 years of service to Elgin Joliet & Eastern Railway before retiring. She lived in both Joliet and New Lenox prior to relocating to The Villages, Florida. She was a proud alumna of Joliet Township High School and Western Michigan University.

Ina was a cherished member of both The United Methodist Church in New Lenox, IL and the New Covenant United Methodist Church in The Villages, FL. Her passions included ballroom dancing, bowling, golf, and traveling the world, experiences which brought her immense joy and enriched her life.

She leaves behind her husband of 47 years, David; her brother, Ronald Geddes (Carol); her son, Bruce (Kimberly) Nay; stepchildren, David Jr. and Robin (Cort) Fey; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews. Ina was preceded in death by her parents, Sydney and Vera (Hinch) Geddes, and her brother, Thomas (Meryl) Geddes.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 12th from 9:00 - 11:00am at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 102 Francis Rd, New Lenox, followed by a funeral service. Interment will take place at Elmhurst Cemetery, Joliet.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in memory of Ina. Her spirit and legacy will continue to live on through the memories she leaves behind and the positive impact she had on those around her.
