Henry Paul Mossell Sr, 72, of Frankfort quietly passed in his sleep on April 8th after long battle with cancer. He was born in Chicago. He loved fishing and hunting, a quiet drive down backroads, tinkering in the garage, crosswords, and visiting with those he loved. You would most often find him sitting in the garage on a sunny day visiting with any folks that stopped by to chat. He was a carpenter by trade working for Tristate Cut Stone, Al Smith and Fred Jeffers Construction, Blackhawk Construction, and Mundo Custom Homes. There is not a neighborhood in the greater Frankfort area that Henry did not help build. He is a loved dad, grandpa, brother and friend. Henry will be missed dearly and Hickory Street will never be the same.
He is predeceased by his dad Henry Frank, mom Marilynn, brothers Hunt, Hugh and granddaughter Lilly. He is survived by his children: Henry Jr (Tracy) of Lebanon, New Hampshire with their 4 children, Ashley(Nathan)Leyland, Hayley, Kelsey, and Henry III and great grandson Arthur; Erik(Michelle) of Wilmington with their 3 children Jonathan, Emilia and Reagan; Chris(Emily) of Washington with their 2 children Finn and Darcy; and Meghann Fae of Chicago; his sisters, Holly Wealer of Hannibal Missouri, Heather(Raymond) Rowswell of New Lenox, Hope Cathelyn of Braidwood and Hilary Mossell of Hannibal, Missouri; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; former spouses Jody Frantz Gercone and Kathy Wright.
A celebration of Henry’s life will be open to the public on June 30th, 2024 from 12:30 to 2PM at the Founders Community Building 140 Oak St Frankfort, IL.
