Henry "Hank" Callahan

Henry M. Callahan, age 86, passed away on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at his home in New Lenox.

Henry is survived by his beloved wife Gloria (nee Vaisvil) Callahan; children, Tamara Lingo, Kevin (Joyce) Callahan, Brian (Lisa) Callahan, and Michael (Teri) Callahan; grandchildren, Gabrielle (Andrew) Snyder, Baylee Callahan, Felisha Melendez, and Danielle Callahan; great-grandchildren, Aubry Milewski and Andrew Snyder; sister Margaret Callahan; and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Ruth (nee Stainrook) Callahan; and his sister Mary Schmitz.

Henry was a pressman for the Chicago Tribune for many years before his retirement in 2001.

Services for Henry will begin on Tuesday, July 18, 2023 with a visitation at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 102 E. Francis Rd, in New Lenox, from 3pm-8pm. Services will continue the following day, Wednesday, July 19, 2023 with a funeral service being held at the funeral home at 11am. Henry will be laid to rest at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
