Harry L Fabie

October 23, 1945 — October 12, 2023

In loving memory of Harry L. Fabie, who passed away on October 12, 2023, at the age of 77. Harry, a proud resident of New Lenox for 20-plus years, was born in Chicago to the late George and Virginia Fabie. He leaves behind a legacy of love, commitment and service that touched the lives of many.

Harry's journey began in the heart of Chicago, and he grew into a remarkable man who cherished family above all else. He was the beloved husband of Kathleen (Pryszcz) Fabie, and their love story spanned an incredible 51 years. The love they shared became the foundation of a beautiful family. Harry was the devoted stepfather of Kimberly (D’Angelo) Jiracek and took great pride in being the grandfather of Blake Jiracek and JoeyLauren (Michael) Weisshaar. He was the dear brother-in-law of Lynette (the late Orlando) Lamparelli.

Known for his noble character, dependability and love, Harry touched the hearts of many. He had a soft spot for his grand-dogs Copper and Oliver, as well as his great grand-dog Louie, reflecting the warmth and kindness that defined him.

A distinguished veteran, Harry honorably served in the United States Marine Corps, embodying the values of loyalty, duty and honor. Following his military service, he continued to dedicate himself to others as a respected Homewood Police Officer, then Sergeant, for 25 years.

Upon retiring from the police force, Harry continued to stay active in the community. His passion for golf led him to volunteer at Sanctuary Golf Course, where he found joy and friendship around the course. Additionally, his keen sense of style came to life through his work at Jos. A Banks.

Harry was not only a man of service, but also a member of the Shriners International Society, embracing the spirit of brotherhood and philanthropy. His dedication to making a positive impact in the lives of those around him extended well beyond his professional life.

As we come together to remember and celebrate the life of Harry L. Fabie, let us honor the legacy of a man who lived with purpose, served with integrity and loved with all his heart. The memorial visitation will be held on Sunday, October 22, 2023, from 1-5 pm, with a prayer service commencing at 4:30 pm. May he rest in peace, and may his memory continue to live in our hearts forever.
