Grazia "Grace" Farnese

Grazia “Gracie” Farnese, age 91, passed away peacefully at Lightways Hospice House in Joliet on Sunday, October 15, surrounded by her family.

Grazia is survived by her beloved children, Margie (Larry) Schletz and John (Sheryl) Farnese; cherished grandchildren Christian Schletz, Miranda Farnese and Melanie Farnese.

She is preceded in death by the love of her life Ottavio Farnese; her parents, Vincenza and Giovanni Calcaterra; and her three siblings, Phillippo, Vicenzo, and Benedetta.

Grazia will be remembered for being family oriented. She loved spending time with her family, especially cooking for them. Her famous lasagna was a hit along with any of her pasta with her homemade sauce. She was a caregiver at heart and just loved taking care of her family. She will be missed by all that knew her.

Services for Grazia will begin on Sunday, October 22,2023 at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way in Frankfort, with a visitation from 4pm until 8 pm. Services will continue the following day with a brief visitation at the funeral home from 9am-10:30am followed immediately by a Mass of Christian Burial being held at St. Mary Catholic Church, 19515 115th Street in Mokena at 11am.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Lightways Hospice in Grace’s name would be appreciated.
