Gerald F. Piepenbrink

Gerald "Jerry" Piepenbrink, age 84, Army Veteran, of Frankfort, passed away September 18, 2026. Beloved husband of Patrice Piepenbrink, nee Paterson; loving father of Jered (Valerie) Piepenbrink and Jeremy (Kayce) Piepenbrink; grandfather of Jack, James, and Blake Piepenbrink; brother of Yvonne Piepenbrink and the late Karen (the late John) Barnaby; friend to many.

Jerry graduated from Lincolnway High School in 1960. He was an Army medic in the mid 60's who spent time at Fort Ord in California and the induction center in Los Angeles. After he was discharged, he returned to Illinois with Patrice and worked as a logistics manager. Jerry and Patrice married in 1966 and built a house together in Green Garden where they raised Jered and Jeremy.

Jerry loved baseball and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan his entire life with Stan Musial being his favorite player. He was also a fan of Johnny Cash, having introduced his sons to the music by playing the Live at San Quentin record, with A Boy Named Sue being a house favorite.

After retirement, he often travelled to Mexico and the Caribbean for some rest and relaxation. His greatest enjoyment came from being with his grandsons and giving them tractor rides around that same property where he raised his sons.

Family will receive friends Friday, September 25, 2026 from 10:00 AM to time of Service at 12:00 noon at Kurtz Memorial Chapel 65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort, IL 60423. Funeral Service is at 12 noon at the funeral home chapel.

 Interment will be at St. Peters Cemetery in Frankfort, IL.
