GERALD KENNETH MUEHRING

Age 76, of Crete, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 27th, 2025.

He was born on September 26th, 1949 in Chicago Heights, to Kenneth & Ethel Mae (Luecke) Muehring.

He was baptized on October 23rd, 1949 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Crete and publicly confessed his faith in Jesus on his confirmation day, April 7th, 1963.

On December 21st, 1975 he was married to Pamela Anderson with whom he enjoyed 49 years of marriage. They were blessed with two children, Meagan and Michael. In 2017 twin grandsons, Andrew and Alexander completed the family.

Jerry graduated from Crete Monee High School and went on to Bethany Lutheran College, Mankato State College and Governors State University. He enjoyed teaching at Hubbard Trail Junior High School in Crete for 25 years and later worked at Hirsch Funeral Homes in Crete and Chicago Heights.

His retirement years offered him time to enjoy searching local estates sales for “finds” he didn’t know he needed.

Jerry is survived by his loving family, wife, Pam (Anderson) Muehring, children, Meagan (Nick) Jarmuz, Michael Muehring, twin grandsons, Andrew Jarmuz, Alexander Jarmuz, niece, Cathy (Brian) Myhre and numerous other family members and friends.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth & Ethel Mae Muehring (Luecke), sister, Judith (late Bill) Paul, niece, Carolyn Miller and nephew Gregory Paul.

Family will receive friends at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1393 Elizabeth Street, Crete IL 60417 on Wednesday, October 1st, 2025 from 10:00 AM until time of the funeral service at 11:00 AM. Interment, Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Crete IL. In lieu of flowers, donations to Bethany Lutheran College or Trinity Lutheran Church would be greatly appreciated.
