GEORGE S. MARICH

George Samuel Marich, 92, of New Lenox, IL, died on April 17, 2022. George was born in Chicago, IL, on October 23, 1929 to Joseph and Matilda Marich. He served in the Army from July 11, 1951 to June 19, 1953 and was a proud Veteran and long-time member of the American Legion. George was a plumber and part owner of the sewer and water business, J. Marich & Sons, founded by his father after he emigrated from Yugoslavia to the United States. He was also a sheet metal worker for many years until his retirement when he was in his 80’s.

George is survived by his wife of 70 years, Providence; his three children; Gregory (Catherine), Michael (Marilyn), and Karen (Gregory) Mikula; his grandchildren; Dyan (Bradley) Hillhouse, Sarah Marich, Kyle (Emily) Mikula, Martha Marich (Max Tartar), Julia Mikula, Aimee Marich, and Samuel Marich; and great-grandson Miles Marich-Tartar.

George was preceded in death by his parents, brother John Marich, and sister Dorothy Anhalt.

Family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 105 E. Francis Road, New Lenox, IL 60451 on Thursday, April 21st 2022 from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Funeral service, Friday, April 22nd 2022 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment, Good Shepherd Cemetery, Orland Park IL. In lieu of flowers, donations to PAWS Animal Shelter would be greatly appreciated.
