George A. Brent

George A. Brent, age 61, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at Lightways Hospice in Joliet. 

George is survived by his beloved wife Geri (nee Rawski) Brent; his son Geremy (fiancé Brighid) Brent; grandson, Fred; his siblings, Joseph (Cathy) Brent, Sue Ann (Mark Blasen) Brent, Lynn (late Mark) Cesal, David (Pam) Brent, and Steven (Sue) Brent; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. 

He is preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Georgiana (nee Konopasek) Brent.

George will be remembered for his love for the outdoors. He had a passion for fishing and bow hunting. He also loved to go camping with his family, especially at Shawnee National Forest. He was always the fearless leader whenever he was trail riding on dirt bikes, even though his favorite toy was his four-wheeler that he called “The General”. He loyally worked for TIP/GE and JB Hunt for 38 years. Over all else though he loved his family deeply and will be greatly missed by all that knew him. 

Services for George will be held at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 102 E. Franics Road in New Lenox, on Thursday, June 13, 2024from 10am until the time of Chapel Prayers at 12pm. George will be laid to rest at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery in Justice. In lieu of flowers, donations in George’s name to NAWS Humane Society would be appreciated.
