Francis “Murph” Recker

Age 91, of New Lenox, IL, passed away Saturday, October 7, 2023, at home surrounded by his loving family. Francis was born in Lansing, IL to the late Ahlrich and Rica (nee Staal) Recker. Beloved husband of the late Barbara (nee McDermott) Recker; Loving father of Lora Recker-Teach and Marc (Mary Lou) Recker; Cherished grandfather of Juston (Heidi) Teach, Brittany Teach and Riley, Alexia, and Nolan Recker; Proud great-grandfather of Landon, Gavin, and Dillon; dear brother of Ahlrich “Jut” Recker, Anthony “Tony” Recker, Beulah Terpstra, Cynthia Stirling, and Doris Michaels, all who preceded him in death; fond brother-in-law of Patrick (Barbara) McDermott, Michael "Mick" (Phyllis) McDermott and Harry "Skip" (Mary) McDermott; loved uncle of numerous nieces and nephews. “Murph” was a lifetime member of IUOE Local #150 and was employed by S.G. Hayes for 40 years. He was a proud U.S. Air Force Korean War Veteran. The family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 102 E. Francis Road, New Lenox, IL on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, from 3pm -8pm. Funeral Services will be on Thursday, October 12, 2023, at 10:00am in the funeral home chapel. Interment with Full Military Honors at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL.
