Ernest Nemeth

Age 76 of New Lenox, IL passed away Monday, May 5, 2025, at Silver Cross Hospital, New Lenox, IL. Ernie was born in Ben Guard, Germany to the late Josef and Maria (nee Roessler) Nemeth.

Loving husband of Jan (nee Caithamer) Nemeth; Loving brother of the late Hermine (nee Nemeth) Moritti, and dear brother-in-law of her husband, John Moritti. Cherished brother-in-law of Sue and Frank Roessler, and Dawn and Jim Fox. Proud Uncle to Kim Roessler, Greg (late Cheryl) Roessler, Lori (Ken) Klug, Karen (Pat) Ross, Victoria (Brandon) Voga, Ken (Megan) Fox. Great Uncle to Devyn, Brayden, Ethan, Preston, Sean, Jamie, Tyler, Colin, Mackenzie, Avery, and Henry. Nephew to Helen (Jim) Termanas and Pat Roessler. Late Wenzel Roessler and Olga Dacy. Loving cousin to many.

Ernie loved this country and proudly served in the U.S. Army before he even became a U.S. citizen. He worked as an electrician for the Illinois Central Railroad and then the Canadian National Railway Company before retiring. Ernie was a kind man and would help anyone who needed help. He loved his church and church friends and truly enjoyed serving as lead usher. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

The family will receive friends at The United Methodist Church of New Lenox on Friday, May 16, 2025, from 10:00am until time of Memorial Service at 11:00am. Military Honors and inurnment in the church columbarium to follow.  In lieu of flowers memorials in Ernie’s name to The United Methodist Church of New Lenox would be appreciated.
