Eric A. Westlund

Eric A. Westlund, age 78, of Mokena, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, September 12, 2025.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Cheryl (nee Edgecombe), and their children: Kari (Dan) Fleck, Joril Westlund, and Bjorn (Erica) Westlund. He was a proud papa to Sten and Soren Fleck, and Gunnar and Henrik Westlund. Eric will also be remembered by many cousins and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sten and Johanna “Jean” (Boe) Westlund.

Eric was a dedicated member of Lodge #810 in Tinley Park, where he served as Worshipful Master, and was active with the Scottish Rite, Valley of Chicago, Medinah Shriners, and Job’s Daughters International. He also built a long and respected career as a member of Local 17 Heat & Frost Insulators in Chicago, from which he retired.

Family and friends are invited to gather at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort, IL, on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, from 3:00-8:00 PM. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at 11:00 AM at St. Peter’s United Church of Christ, 12 West Sauk Trail, Frankfort, IL. Following the church service, all are warmly invited to a lunch reception at Balagio in Mokena, 9716 191st Street, beginning at 12:00 PM.

Interment will be private at Mount Emblem Cemetery, Elmhurst.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Children’s Hospital, a cause close to Eric’s heart.
