Emily Stelter, 103, of Country Club Hills passed away peacefully, Jan. 13, 2024. She is survived by her children: Dorothy Stelter of Chicago Heights and William (Jana) Stelter of Lemont, Grandmother of Scott (late Barbara) Stelter of Orland Park, Todd (Betsy) Stelter of Lemont, Cindy (Mike) Colin of Glendale, CA, Curtis (Carolyn) Stelter of Lemont; great-grandchildren: Ailia, Emily, and Ivy Colin and William and Anna Stelter. She was preceded in death by her husband William H Stelter, sister Viola (late Raymond) Siekman, and brother, Ernst (late Viola) Kampe. Emily was a member of the South Cook County 4-H Fair Board, The Women’s Committee of Cook County Farm Bureau, Matteson Historical Society, Altar Guild and School Aid at St. John’s Lutheran Church of Country Club Hills, and worked for SD160 over 20 years, A Member of SALT- Seniors and Law Enforcement Together for which she was awarded the Senior Volunteer of the Year for the State of Illinois. A visitation will be held on Friday, Jan. 26, from 3:00 p.m. -7:00 p.m. at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort, IL 60423. Sat., Jan. 27, Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Country Club Hills. Interment following at the St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery of Country Club Hills, the Matteson Historical Society, Lutheran Hour Ministries, Lutheran Bible Ministries, Lutheran Bible Translators or Lutheran Indian Ministries.
