Elizabeth "Betty" Golke

Elizabeth E. Golke passed away peacefully at the age of 98. She was born, raised, and lifelong resident of the Bridgeport neighborhood, Chicago.

Beloved daughter of Henry and Emilie (Schmidt) Golke. Dear sister of Helen (Karl) Wesel, Gertrude (James) Mareska, and Henry (Margaret) Golke. Fond aunt of Dennis (Sharon) Wesel, Richard Wesel, Judy (Harry) Donahoo, Shirley (Bob) Jones, and Butch (Bobbi) Golke. Fond great-aunt of Eric (Sandi) Wesel, Dennis (Scott Houghton) Wesel, Emily Wesel, Bill (Julie) Wesel, Becky Donahoo, Karen Jones, Kurt (Misty) Golke, Dan Golke, Luke (Amanda) Golke, Amy Golke and numerous great-great-nieces and nephews.

She worked 30+ years for Commonwealth Edison in the typing pool, executive secretary, and complaint department.

She loved gathering with friends and family to dance, especially polkas. Traveled the USA with her nieces and nephews. More than anything she loved her family. Always giving gifts and support to those in need.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Cottages of New Lenox and Capital Hospice for their nurturing care.

A visitation will be held at Peace Lutheran Church 1900 E Lincoln Highway New Lenox, IL 60451 on Saturday May 10th from 10:00am-10:30am with service starting at 10:30am. Interment will be at Bethania Cemetery Justice, IL.
