Eleanor L. Radostits, nee Simovic, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2026, at the age of 98. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, whose family was the center of her world.
Beloved wife of the late Robert G. Radostits. Loving mother of Robert Radostits (Ed Hofmann), daughter-in-law Christine Radostits; Stephen Radostits (Lynn); William Radostits (Kathy); and Kathryn Pietras (Tom). Proud grandmother of 10 and great-grandmother of 18.
Born March 3, 1928, in Cicero, Illinois, to Michael and Catherine Simovic, the youngest of six children. Cherished sister of the late John, Anna, Betty, Mike, and Millie. Eleanor graduated from Harper High School in 1945, where she met her husband Bob, and they were married on March 1, 1947. She spent her life as a dedicated wife and mother only going back to work after all her children were in school. She worked part-time in a hearing aid office and later worked in several office/stationery businesses. She lived simply, finding joy in small things and the kitchen was the heart of her home. She treasured her many friends, and loved babysitting for her grandchildren, and grand-animals alike. She found happiness listening to the music her husband played. Though she never sought attention, she left a lasting mark on everyone who knew her and she will be deeply missed.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort IL 60423. A visitation with family will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a celebration service starting at 7:00 p.m. The family will provide food and refreshments during the visitation, just as Eleanor would have wanted.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mercy Home for Boys & Girls, Sunny Hill Nursing Home (for their Rainy-Day Fund), or Best Friends Animal Society.
