Elaine T Somers

Elaine Somers, age 83, passed away peacefully at Dimensions Assisted Living Facility in Burr Ridge, on Tuesday, October 24, 2023.

She is survived by her children, Robert E. (Debbie) Thompson III, and Tracy L. (Sebastian) Unger; grandchildren, Andrea Thompson, Eric Thompson, Annelise Thompson, Alaina Thompson, Annemarie Thompson, Amalia Thompson, Emily Unger and Christian Unger; and her sister Judy (late George) Marshall.

Preceded in death by her husband Robert Thompson Jr.; parents Paul and Adele Zegley;

Elaine will be remembered for being a genuinely kind and caring person. She loved to rescue animals and volunteered at the Women's Crisis Center. When she was younger, she worked as a Special Religious Head Coordinator at St. Terrence in Alsip. She was also a Hospital Volunteer in the Emergency room at the St. Francis Hospital in Blue Island for many years.

Services for Elaine will take place on Friday, October 27, 2023 at St. Jude Catholic Church, 241 W. 2nd Street in New Lenox, with a Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 10am.
