Age 81, of Franklin Grove, IL passed away unexpectedly on Friday, November 3, 2023. Earl was born in Chicago, IL to the late Jamie and Elsie (nee Poynter) Pate. Beloved husband of Mary (nee Senesac) Pate; loving father of Mary Elizabeth (Lillian Knight) Pate, Katy (John) Hernandez, and Earl James (Paula) Pate; cherished grandfather of Jonathan Scott James, Joseph Anthony Hernandez, Nicholas James Hernandez, Kyle Steven James, Christopher Scott Keating, Derek Thomas Keating, Ashley Nicole Pate, and Tyler Dean Hernandez; proud great grandfather of Hunter Prince Hernandez and Melanie Leigh Hernandez; dear brother of the late Richard Douglas Pate; loved uncle, cousin and friend of many. Earl was Chief Maintenance Engineer for Equity Property Management, retiring in 2007. The family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel 102 E. Francis Rd, New Lenox, IL on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, from 3pm – 8pm. Funeral services Wednesday, November 8, 2023, with prayers at the funeral home at 9:30am then to St. Mary Catholic Church, Mokena, IL for Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Alsip, IL.
