Earl E. Zastro

Earl E. Zastro, age 81, a resident of Frankfort (formerly of Tinley Park), passed away on Monday, January 30, 2023 at his home with his family by his side. He was the loving husband of Donna (Ryan) Zastro; beloved father of Mike Zastro, the late Kristy Zastro, Laura (Joseph) Cissell and Ryan Zastro; dearest brother of Gerry (Chris) Zastro; cherished grandpa of Olivia, Luke, Ellie, Jack, Maggie and Jane.

Earl was a kind man with a big personality and even more generous nature. Born and raised in Chicago, he graduated from De La Salle High School and received his bachelor’s degree from Quincy College. He was a longtime State Farm employee and Knights of Columbus member. He loved God, his family, traveling and the Chicago Bears. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving in Johnston Island Air Force Base in the Pacific as well as in Japan.

A visitation for Earl will be held at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort, IL on Friday, February 3, 2023 from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm. There will be funeral services on Saturday, February 4, 2023 with prayers in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 am and leaving for St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, 7659 W. Sauk Trail, Frankfort IL for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 am. For those who wish to attend, interment with military honors will take place on Monday, February 6, 2023, meeting at the chapel at Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery, 6001 W 111th St. Alsip, IL at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, you may make memorial donations in Earl’s name to the Myotonic Muscular Dystrophy Association through myotonic.org.
