Dr. Alfred C. Kosel

Dr. Alfred C. Kosel, age 82, a longtime resident of New Lenox, Lake Wales, FL, and Homer Glen, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 26, 2022. Loving husband of Renée Kosel (Winans) former Illinois State Representative; beloved father of Janine (Dan) Valkema, Christopher (Michele) Kosel and Dr. Eric (Cora) Kosel; dearest brother of Eloise Ann (Reggie) Brown; cherished grandfather of William (Alyssa) Loggarakis, Hunter Valkema, Brenden Kosel, Madison Kosel, Ethan Kosel, Hayden Valkema, Trysta Kosel, Ash Kosel, Emily Vandermeer, and Molly Vandermeer; proud great grandfather of Devin Loggarakis. He was preceded in death by his parents Alfred E. and Ruth (Lindemeyer) Kosel, grandson Tyler Valkema and great grandson Liam Loggarakis. Dr. Kosel practiced dentistry in Tinley Park for over 40 years. He was active member of Chicago Dental Society and Illinois Dental Society. Dr. Kosel was a graduate of Loyola University School of Dentistry, a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church in New Lenox, former member of New Lenox Lions Club and was an avid fisherman. A visitation will be held at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 102 E. Francis Road, New Lenox IL 60451 on Sunday, October 30, 2022, from 2:00 PM until 6:00 PM. Funeral Service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church 508 N. Cedar Road, New Lenox IL 60451 on Monday, October 31, 2022, at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow to Maplewood Cemetery, New Lenox.
