Douglas Ervin Rovenhagen

January 12, 1956- April 26, 2024

Doug loved gardening. His flower and vegetable gardens were beautiful. Tomatoes, cucumbers, sunflowers, zinnias, cosmos, gourds of all colors and sizes. His pumpkin patch supplied us with pumpkins from Halloween to Thanksgiving. His birthday gifts were thoughtfully chosen, and his cards made you laugh so hard.

He loved photography, coconut cream pie, his dog “Chumley” and his cat “Cat”.

He was a solo traveler; He called his family when he arrived in Saipan and when he made it to Mt. Saint Helen’s where the volcanic ash was still warm.

Born in Joliet to Janice and Glen Rovenhagen. Graduate of Union Grade School and 1974 graduate of Joliet East High School. He is survived by his sisters, Renee (Chuck) Shortley, Susan (Wayne) Scott, and Alaine (Dan) Rovenhagen-Murphy; and his nieces and nephews, Zach, Edward (Deena), Jonathan (Rachel), Austin (Adam), and Luke.

Arrangements entrusted to Kurtz Memorial Chapel. A private memorial will be held at Wilton Center Cemetery.
