Age 80, of Mokena, passed away on Wednesday, January 26th, 2022 at Lightways Hospice House in Joliet.

Dennis is survived by his loving family, wife, Barbara Borkowski (Planis), children, Scott (Pamela) Borkowski, Mary Bily, Michele (Ken) Buksnes, sister, Arlene Bergman, grandchildren, Croix Buksnes, Jenna (fiancée DJ Staska) Borkowski, Megan (Tyler) Millner, Carson Buksnes, Makynna (Collin) Johnson, Mitchell Bily and numerous nieces and nephews.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Anton & Frances Borkowski (Zagorski), brother, Tony “Babe” Borkowski, brother in-law, Bob Bergman and sister in-law, Sue Borkowski.

Dennis was a member and usher at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Mokena; an amateur radio operator (Ham Radio) N9BIA and member of the Hamfesters Radio Club. He greatly enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, square dancing, golfing and being a beekeeper. Dennis was known as a “jack of all trades” and the “go to handyman” of his family and friends. He enjoyed the simple things in life, for instance a cup of McDonalds coffee at 10:00 AM everyday with friends.

Family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort, IL 60423 on Sunday, January 30th, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 7;00 PM. Funeral service, Monday, January 31st, 2022 with prayers at the funeral home at 9:30 AM and then to St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 19515 115th Avenue, Mokena IL 60448 for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM.
