Debra Barry

Debby Barry, 74, of Morton Grove, Illinois, passed away on October 15, 2026, surrounded by her daughter, sister and brother-in-law.

She was unapologetically herself: warm and caring while also stubborn and silly. A CPA with a creative side, Debby loved music, played piano and guitar, and even spent time in a rock band. She also loved the water, especially swimming and boogie boarding in the ocean.

Debby was deeply loved by her daughter, Bree Mangun; son-in-law, Kevin; and her three grandchildren, Jackson, Brooklyn and Chase. She is also loved and survived by her sisters, Vicky, Andrea and Mary, as well as family across the country. She was preceded in death by her brother, Bobby, and her parents, Al and Carol.

Her family will remember a grandmother and aunt who never said no to ice cream for breakfast, a mom and sister who loved to laugh over a glass of red wine, and a woman distinctive enough to inspire more than one completely made-up family song.

One phrase in particular became part of the family vocabulary: "Debby does what Debby do."

And while those who love her will miss her enormously, they know one thing for certain:

Debby will keep doing what Debby do.
