Daniel D. Schreiber, 63, passed away suddenly on Monday, November 24, 2025.
Daniel worked as a newspaper printer for over three decades, dedicating most of his career with The Daily Southtown. There he made numerous life-long friends.
Dan was an avid fisherman, and looked forward to his annual fishing trips to Heyward with his grade school friends. He also loved summer grilling and was known for his brisket and ribs on the smoker.
Dan was also a recreational bike rider, usually hitting at least 30 miles each ride, and took pride in that. Along those rides, he would often hunt for wild asparagus, the perfect side dish for the BBQ.
Dan also had a musical side, specializing in playing acoustical guitar. He specifically mastered the delicate art of finger picking, always keeping the family house filled with music.
Daniel is survived by his wife of 31 years, Nancy Schreiber; his children Caitlyn (Brenton) Sayers and Jacob Schreiber; his brother Marty (Kari) Schreiber; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother Kathleen, his father Lawrence, and his brother Billy Schreiber.
Family and friends are invited to gather at Kurtz Memorial Chapel in New Lenox, IL on Saturday, December 20, 2025, from 10 a.m. until the service at 3 p.m.
