Christopher P. Murphy

Age 59, a resident of Frankfort, formerly of Burbank and Colorado, passed away on Wednesday, January 15, 2020. Loving husband of Monica Murphy (Woerly); beloved son of Jacqueline Murphy (Graves) and the late John P. Murphy; cherished father of C.J. Murphy; dearest brother of Kathleen (Jim) Schultz, Terry (Shirley) Murphy, Ann Murphy, James (Carol) Murphy, Mary Murphy, Brian (Valerie) Murphy and the late John Murphy; fond uncle to many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Christopher was a member of IBEW Local #9, and a recently retired Signal Foreman for the C.T.A. He was a member of the Tinley Track and Trail Running Club. He ran the Boston Marathon in 2001, was a century bicycle rider and participated in many triathlons. Christopher was a wonderful husband, father, son and friend. He was a genuinely good person and well loved by anyone who knew him. He will be cremated and a memorial visitation will be held at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort IL 60423 on Saturday, January 25, 2020 from 11:00 AM until 4:00 PM, with a memorial service at 4:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to The Cancer Support Center of Mokena/Homewood would be greatly appreciated.
