Age 83 passed away on Tuesday January 6, 2026, at his home in Tinley Park with his family by his side.
Carmen is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Kathleen Chidichimo (nee Clifford), children Jennifer (David) Nelson, Jeff (Cathryn) Chidichimo, James (Nicole) Chidichimo, grandchildren Jeremy Nelson, Justin Nelson, Jacqui Chidichimo, sister Cynthia Whalen
Carmen was proceeded in death by his parents Carmen and Catherine Chidichimo, brother-in-law James Whalen
Throughout his career as a logistics manager at Kraft Foods, Carmen's expertise and leadership skills greatly contributed to the success of the company. He was admired by colleagues and peers alike for his professionalism and work ethic. Beyond his corporate achievements, Carmen found immense joy in giving back to the community as a volunteer for the Service Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE). Mentoring aspiring entrepreneurs brought him great satisfaction, and he relished the opportunity to share his knowledge and experience, helping others navigate their paths to success.
Carmen was also known for his unwavering support of the Chicago Cubs. An avid fan, he celebrated the team's victories and weathered their disappointments with a spirit that truly embodied the essence of loyalty.
As we remember Carmen, we honor a man who was not only a successful professional but also a compassionate mentor and fervent supporter of his favorite baseball team. His contributions to both his field and his community will be cherished by those whose lives he touched. Carmen's spirit will live on in the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort IL 60423 on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, from 9AM until 11AM. 12PM Mass of Christian burial to follow at St. Stephen Deacon and Martyr Church Tinley Park, IL. Burial 2PM at Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery Alsip, IL.
