Bud H. Lemke

Bud H. Lemke, age 86, passed away on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at Avantra Lake Zurich, IL.  Bud is survived by his children, Mark (Patti Jo) Lemke, Pamela (Grant) Fuchs, Heather Trost, and Scott (Lauren) Lemke; grandchildren, Karin Lemke, Josslyn McKenna, Kate (Timothy) Reeves, Grant (Mackenzie) Fuchs, Kimberly Lemke, Royce (Maura) Fuchs, Bryce Pitcairn, Trey Fuchs, Trent Pitcairn, Taylin Lemke, and Kai Lemke; great-grandchildren, Kylee Herman and Gracey Ann Szesny; his brother Alan “Lucky” Lemke; sisters Penelope Bartels and Barbara Withycombe; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Caryl (nee Steward) Lemke; parents, Erwin and Arlawyne (nee Smyth) Lemke.

Bud met the love of his life Caryl when they were both attending Barrington High School and were married for 65 years.  Bud went off to serve his country in the U.S. Navy and was a proud veteran.  He and Caryl carried a passion for their patriotism throughout their lives together. He was a fourth generation Machine Shop owner retiring in 2014.  Bud and Caryl taught safety boating classes through the Skokie Valley Power Squadron.  In his free time, he enjoyed boating, camping, snowmobiling, hosting holiday celebrations and entertaining on their boat. Above all else though, he loved his family deeply and was extremely proud of all his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He will be missed by all that knew and loved him.

Services for Bud will be held on Monday, February 26, 2024, at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 102 E. Francis Road, with a visitation from 9:30am until the time of the funeral service at 11:00am. Bud will be laid to rest with full military honors at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL.
