Age 80, 51-year resident of New Lenox, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 06, 2022, at Silver Cross Hospital, New Lenox, IL. Bruce was born in Chicago, IL to the late Henry and Edith (nee Clark) Engelhardt. Beloved husband of 60 years of Virginia (nee Duran); loving father of Diana (Scott) Pavey, Rich (Tammy) Engelhardt, and Denise Engelhardt; cherished grandfather of Anna (Dwayne) Griffin, Steven Mendez, the late Crystal Miles, the late Amanda Engelhardt, Alex Engelhardt, Heidi (Freddy) Cannon, Dusty (Harold) Bastian, Jordan (Chad) Graybeal, Cole (Amanda) Herald, Jimi (Shanna Serna) Engelhardt, Tiffani (Julian Dorsey) Engelhardt, the late Ashley Ramsey, and Stephanie Ramsey; proud great grandfather and great-great grandfather; dear brother of the late Allen (Joan) Engelhardt, the late Thomas Engelhardt, and the late Phillip (late Leona) Engelhardt. Bruce was a U.S. Air Force Veteran. He was a mechanic for American Airlines for 35 years, retiring in 2003. Bruce was a volunteer fireman in New Lenox, and a volunteer with E.S.D.A. in the early 1980’s. He was a member of the International Community Church, Frankfort, IL. The family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel 102 E. Francis Rd, New Lenox, IL on Saturday, December 17, 2022, from 10:00am until the time of Funeral Service at 12:00pm. Interment will be private at Elm Lawn Memorial Park, Elmhurst, IL.
