Bonnie Claire O’Connor
80, of New Lenox formerly of Oak Forest and Hazel Crest, passed away, after a lengthy illness, on Friday, April 23, 2021 at her home. Bonnie was born in Chicago, IL to the late Richard and Rose (nee Borgia) Fitzlaff. Beloved wife of the late Joseph R. O’Connor; loving and devoted mother of Joseph (Donna) O’Connor, Michael O’Connor, the late Thomas O’Connor, William (Rhonda) O’Connor, Kathleen Urgo, and the late Robert O’Connor; cherished grandmother of Nathanial, Nicolas, and Kylie O’Connor, Ashley (Andrew) Horton, Justin O’Connor, Patrick (Allison) O’Connor, Sarah (Ryan) Guffey, Tiffany (Richard) Warmuskerten, and Alyssa Urgo; proud great-grandmother of Rowen and Finn Guffey, and Lindsay, Mackenzie, Piper, and Ellie Mae Warmuskerten; dear sister of the late Donna (Ron) Wojcik and the late Richard (late Nancy) Fitzlaff; loved aunt of numerous nieces and nephews. Bonnie was a graduate of Moraine Valley Community College. She was a Paraprofessional with Southwest Cook County Cooperative Association for Special Education for over 20 years before retiring. Bonnie loved her pets, as well as all the wildlife in her yard that she kept well fed. In lieu of flowers memorials in Bonnie’s name to St. Anne Early Childhood Day Care, 16777 Dixie Highway, Hazel Crest, IL 60429 would be appreciated. The family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, New Lenox on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 from 3pm – 8pm, with the rosary being prayed at 7:00pm. Funeral Services will begin on Thursday, April 29, 2021 with everyone meeting at St. Anne Catholic Church, Hazel Crest for Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am. Interment to follow at Good Shepherd Cemetery, Orland Park. Social Distancing and Masks are required for ALL in attendance. No food allowed in the funeral home.
