Baudelia Arias 89, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully at her home in Joliet, Illinois, on June 20, 2025. She was born on May 25, 1936, in Mexico to Clemente Alvarez and Ygnacia Alvarez (nee Barocio), both of whom preceded her in death.
Baudelia was a woman of many talents and interests, known for her kind and welcoming nature. She cherished moments spent with family, where her warmth and generosity shone brightly. Baudelia enjoyed a variety of hobbies that brought her joy. She delighted in sewing, crocheting, drawing, and cross-stitching, often gifting her creations to loved ones. Music was another passion of hers; she found happiness in singing her favorite songs, which filled her home with harmony and love.
Her legacy continues through her devoted husband of 49 years, Placido Arias, and their daughter, Georgina Arias. Baudelia took immense pride in her role as abuelita to Ygnacia, Genevieve (Ian), Joseph, Francis, and Joaquin, nurturing them with love, support. She also leaves behind her dear brother, Lazaro (Maria) Alvarez, who shared her fond memories of their childhood. Baudelia was a fond tia to many nieces and nephews, as well as a special in law to all her extended family. Baudelia was preceded in death by her siblings Teodolo, Cleofas (the late Juan), Emigdio (Carmen), Lorenzo (Emilia), Daniel (the late Amparo), Alfonso (Luz Maria), and Chuy (the late German)
Baudelia Arias will be remembered not only for her many artistic talents but also for the genuine love and kindness she extended to everyone around her. Her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her.
