Avis Obion Rendina

Avis Obion Rendina nee Trusty, 88, passed away on Dec. 14, 2020. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Leonard Rendina, Jr. in 2003. Mother of Michael (Lynn) Rendina of Beecher, Rob Rendina of Holiday, FL, Vickie (Matt) Tabbert of Wheaton, Trina (Brian) Keene of Monee, Lenore (Dan) Dessecker of Crete and of the late (2013) Mark Rendina. Sister of Hugh (Eileen) Trusty, Jr. of Chicago Heights, Mary (Frank) Baressi of Connecticut, late Ruelene (late Chuck) Aarup. Grandma of Melissa Rendina, Angela (Keith) Needy, Jaclyn (Erik) Williams, Karilynn Vicari, Brittany Wrenn, Tim (Sarah) Wrenn, Kaitlyn Wrenn, Mallory (Ryan) Fisher, Lauren Rendina, Anthony Rendina, Nicholas Rendina, Sarah (Danny) Snyder, Ashley (Jake) Sanchez, Bobby Keene and Kayla Keene. Great-grandma of 16. Born to the late Vervue “Bertha” and Hugh Lavert Trusty in Water Valley, Mississippi. Avis’s family moved to the Chicago area in her late childhood, she attended Bloom High School where she met her husband Leonard Rendina. They married on February 9, 1952 and raised their family in Chicago Heights. Avis was also a bookkeeper and worked for 25 years as an import manager for LBL Lighting. She loved the Arts and enjoyed painting and drawing in charcoals and pastels. She was an exceptionally talented dancer and did ballet and tap in her childhood. Avis and Leonard loved dancing together and are surely dancing in Heaven. A private Visitation and Funeral Mass will be held at St. Kieran Catholic Church in Chicago Heights with burial following at Assumption Cemetery.
