Anita L. Lewis-Schmoll (nee Gaertner)

Anita Lewis-Schmoll, of Lockport, passed away at home on Saturday, November 5, 2022. Anita was born in Chicago, IL to the late Alfred and Bertha (nee Piesch) Gaertner. Beloved wife of George F. Schmoll III, loving mother of Laurel (Robb) Carlson, Alan Lewis (Dawn), and Tim Lewis; cherished grandmother of Matthew Lewis, Noah Lewis, Jacob Carlson, and Joshua Carlson; loved aunt of numerous nieces and nephews. Anita worked as a R.N. most of her life, and at the age of 70 completed her PhD. She was active in the Navy League, and also in Stephen Ministry at Parkview Christian Church. A private family Committal Service was held at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL. A Memorial Service for Anita will be held on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, at Parkview Christian Church 11100 Orland Pkwy, Orland Park, IL 60467 with visitation from 1:00pm until time of Service at 2:00pm.
