Alice Margaret Brandolino, a beloved matriarch and a creative spirit, departed this earthly realm on February 24, 2026, at her cherished home. Born on September 13, 1936, in Joliet, Illinois, she graced the world with her warmth and kindness, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Alice dedicated a significant part of her life to her career at an accounting firm as a book keeper. Yet, it was her role as a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother that defined her essence. A familial bond was at the core of Alice's identity; she loved her family fiercely and with unwavering devotion.
In the gentle embrace of her home, Alice nurtured her creativity through her passions for sewing and knitting. She delighted in crafting handmade clothing, Halloween costumes that brought joy to young hearts, and wedding dresses that symbolized love and new beginnings. Her affinity for flowers reflected her nurturing spirit, as she tended to her gardens with the same care she bestowed upon her family.
Alice's commitment to her community was evident in her distinguished service on the New Lenox School Boards, where she served as President. Her civic-mindedness further extended to her involvement with the selective services in the 1970s and her role as a Will County Election Judge, showcasing her dedication to the democratic process.
Preceded in death by her beloved parents, Frank and Anna Govednik, and her brothers, Frank (Vivian), Al (Marion), and Len (Marion), Alice leaves behind a legacy rich in love and connection. She is survived by her adoring husband of 64 years, Richard Brandolino, her cherished children, Richard (Susan) Brandolino, Anthony (Amy) Brandolino, Ann (Ted) Shackleton, and Julia (Dan) Hazekamp. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Abby, Ben, Nick, Maddie, Cary, Caroline, Liz, Kate Alice, and Amanda, as well as her great-grandchildren, Max, Brooks, Micah, Margot, Grant, Mara and Anna Alice.
As we remember Alice, let us celebrate her vibrant spirit, her unwavering love for family, and her creative heart that touched so many lives. She will be fondly remembered, and her legacy will endure in the beautiful memories she crafted for all.
