William F. Shiple, age 84, passed away peacefully with his family by his side, on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at Lightways Hospice in Joliet.
William is survived by his beloved wife Betty (nee Suchala) Shiple; children, Douglas (Kathy) Shiple, Christine Knight, Gregory (Camille) Shiple, and Jeffrey (Jenniffer) Shiple; and his grandchildren, Andrea (Mardy) Polo, Amy (Roland) Shiple, Zachary Knight, Scott (Kayla) Shiple, James Shiple, and Emily Shiple; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents Leo and Helen (nee Haupricht) Shiple; and his siblings, Barbara Banning, Edward Shiple, and Bernard Shiple.
William was a former member of St. Kieran's Catholic Church in Chicago Heights, and more recently a current member of St. George Catholic Church in Tinley Park. He retired from Stone Container Corporation after over 30 years of work, where he held the position of Manager of Container Board Marketing. Outside of work, in his free time, he was an avid golfer, bowler, and gardener. Above all else though, he loved his family. William will be missed by all that knew him.
Services for William will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2023 with a visitation at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort, IL from 8am-9:30am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. George Catholic Church, 6707 175th Street, in Tinley Park at 10am. William will be laid to rest at Good Shepherd Cemetery, 16201 104th Ave, Orland Park, IL 60467. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Lightways Hospice.
