William C. Sumner

WILLIAM CURTIS SUMNER

Age 76, passed away at the Tucson Veterans Administration Hospital, Arizona on June 16th following a long battle with Leukemia and heart disease. “Bill” was born on December 12th, 1943 in Chicago, IL to Roger and Constance Sumner of Homewood, IL. He was the middle of three sons. Following two years in the Army he married Deborah Duff of Matteson, IL. After working a number of jobs in in the South Suburban area, he retired and moved to Green Valley, AZ in 2009.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, wife Deborah, daughter Amanda and his younger brother Hugh. He is survived by his daughter Sarah (Daniel) Chen, son Mathew Bellis, a grandson and a granddaughter as well as his elder brother “Hap” Sumner (Beryl), sister-in-law Debbi Sumner, many cousins, nephews and nieces and , grand nephews and nieces. A special thank you to all the members of the Duff and Sumner families for their help and support to William and his family.

Private graveside services will be held on June 27 at Skyline Memorial Park, in Monee, IL. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to The Fisher House Foundation or the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
