Willard 'Will" A. Barenz

Age 93, of New Lenox, passed away Saturday, November 26, 2022, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Will was born in Joliet, IL to the late Jacob Barenz and Vera (nee Kohlhagen) Barenz-Homerding. Beloved husband of Dolores (nee Cooper) Barenz; loving father of Janice Knippel, and Janine (Robert) Glass; cherished grandfather of Erin (Masato) Kominami, Kaitlin (Nishant) Knippel-Sarma, and Nickolas Glass; proud great grandfather of Connor Sarma; beloved brother-in-law of Wes and Marilyn Sievert, loved uncle, cousin, and friend of many. Will worked in the Accounting Department at the Chicago Rock Island Pacific Railroad for 29 years, retiring in 1985. After retirement he spent 5 years in the Maintenance Department at Lincolnway Central High School. Will was active on the mission teams at the United Methodist Church of New Lenox and for many years served as a member of the Mokena School Board. He loved fishing, woodworking, golfing, and was an excellent bowler. The family will receive friends at the United Methodist Church of New Lenox on Thursday, December 1, 2022, from 9:30am until time of Funeral Service at 11:00am.
