Wayne E. Ryder Sr.
80, of Manteno, passed away on Saturday, April 9, 2016 at University of Chicago Hospital surrounded by his family. Wayne was born in Marshalltown, IA to the late Stephen and Edna (nee Sellers) Ryder. Beloved husband of Judy (nee McClain); loving father of Debbie Geren, Patti Ramey, Laurie (Mike) Sanwald, Wayne Jr. (Bonnie) Ryder, Sharon (Ken) Salman, Thomas (Jorie) Roberts, Tammy (David) Gallagher, and Shelly (Eli) Rivera; cherished grandfather of 14, great-grandfather of 13 and great-great grandfather of one; dear brother of Barb (Larry) Pierce and the late Robert (the late Faye) Ryder; also survived by his beloved pets Bandit, Soxx, and Chaos. Wayne was the owner and operator of Ryder & Son Auto Shop, former Chief of Police in Mokena, and drove team busses for Northwest College in Powell, WY. The family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 102 E. Francis Rd., New Lenox, IL 60451 on Thursday, April 14, 2016 from 2:00 PM -8:00 PM. Funeral service and Interment at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Joliet will be private.
