74, of rural Lockport, died unexpectedly Sunday, October 26, 2014 at his home. Lee was born in Gladstone, IL to the late Lester R. "Bill" and Vera M. (nee Milligan) James. Loving husband of 52 years of Darlene (nee DePra); Beloved father of Randy (Nanette) James and Susan (Dan) Starcevich; Adored grandfather of Benjamin "BJ", Max, Teddy and Mitchell Starcevich and Jonah, Noah, Elijah and Hannah James; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Gary. Lee retired from Caterpillar in Montgomery after 34 years of service. He was a member of Homer Congregational Church, Lockport Moose Lodge, and Sons of the American Legion, Lockport. Lee enjoyed darts, pool, tennis and golf as well as fishing, horseshoes and cooking. Travel, time with family, and wintering in Florida brought him great joy. He cherished his eight grandchildren. He was a four year member of the varsity track and basketball teams in high school. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Lee's name to Homer Congregational Church would be appreciated. Family will receive friends at Homer Congregational Church 14832 W. 163rd St., Homer Glen, IL 60491 on Saturday, November 1, 2014 from 10:00am until time of Celebration of Life at 11:00am.
