WALTER J. BAUER JR.

Age 91, of Berwyn, formerly of Riverside, passed away Monday, May 16th, 2022 at Generations of Elmwood Park in Elmwood Park.

Walter is survived by his loving family, wife of 63 years, Geraldine Bauer (Faber), children, Christine (Jeff Buending) Bruton, John (Bonnie) Ramsay, Steven (Karen) Bauer, grandchildren, Jack (Jessie) Bruton, Catherine (Dan Camponova) Bruton, Laura (Brian) Kernaghan, John (Nicole) Ramsay, Michael Bauer, Ashley (Tony) Russo, great grandchildren, Edward Kernaghan, Jane Kernaghan, Marty Ramsay and Charlie Ramsay.

Walter was preceded in death by his parents, Walter J. & Anna Bauer Sr. (Ruff), brother, Joseph W. (late Shirley) Bauer.

Walter was a United States Navy Veteran who served during the Korean War. He was a longtime member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Riverside where he was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Walter was a former Boys Scouts Pack Leader and an avid Chicago Cubs fan; he retired from Ryerson Steele Company after 37 years of service and will always be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather and great grandfather.

Family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort, IL 60423 on Tuesday, May 24th, 2022 from 9:00 AM until time of the funeral service at 10:00 AM.
