Virginia M. Coffeen
Age 92, lifelong resident of Lockport, passed away on Wednesday, January 2, 2019. Virginia was preceded in death by her husband George Coffeen, parents Selma and Charles Varley, Sister Alice Kuehnle, Brother Charles Varley, and niece Diane Goodwin. She is survived by her niece Lois Dostal and nephew Daniel Goodwin and several great nieces and nephews, and 5 great-great nieces and nephews, and god-daughter Ellen Schroll. Virginia was Coordinator of the Lockport Fish Food Pantry for 30 years, a life member of the 99’s, an International Organization of Women Pilots; past Secretary of the Lockport Golf and Recreation Club; and retried from Texaco after 38 years of dedicated employment. She and her husband enjoyed traveling, and visited all 50 states. Their travels also included Europe, Asia, North Africa, South America, Central America, Australia, New Zealand, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Panama Canal, and the Virgin Islands. The family will receive friends at Goodale Memorial Chapel, 912 S. Hamilton St., Lockport, IL 60441 on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 from 3-8 PM. Lying in State, Wednesday, January 9, 2019 from 9:30 AM until time of Funeral service at 10:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church of Lockport, 1000 S. Washington Street, Lockport, IL 60441.
