Virginia "Ginny" Hollahan
On October 26, 2016, we lost our sister Ginny (Virginia) Hollahan, age 62. Ginny led a vibrant life and was challenged with the limitations of multiple sclerosis during the last 20 years of her life. She died of pneumonia and had a peaceful death surrounded by family. For the last year and a half Ginny resided at Sunny Hill Nursing Home of Will County in Joliet, Illinois where she was very engaged with staff. She maintained many interests and regularly used her iPad to play Trivia and other games and to communicate on Facebook with friends and family. She loved watching TV and especially enjoyed Chicago sports teams. She was thrilled to see the Cubs reach the World Series! Ginny was a graduate of Mundelein College. She enjoyed traveling and worked for Mid-American Elevator Company. About ten years ago she moved to New Lenox, Ill to be closer to her sister Joy. Her brother Jim and sisters Mary, Sally, Dorothy, and Joy, and many nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and nephews survive Ginny. The Memorial Service will be Saturday, November 12th at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 102 E. Francis Road New Lenox, IL 60451. Visitation will be from 1:00pm until time of Memorial Service at 3:00pm with Rev. Hope Sibson officiating.
