Vickey Sharon Estrada

Vickey Sharon Estrada (Epperson), age 70, peacefully passed away on Thursday, September 9, 2021 at Silver Cross Hospital, with her daughter, son and eldest grandchild by her side.

Vickey is survived by her husband of 46 years, Felipe Estrada, her children Jennifer (Gabriel) Griffith and Brandon (Rachel) Estrada, her siblings Bo (Sheila) Epperson, Peggy (late David) Farris and Paula (Terry) Burns, her grandbabies Emily, Cameron, Addison, Gabriella, Caleb, Annalise and Josephine, her nephew Michael (Sarah) Cronin and great-nephews Harrison and Murray, among many other beloved family members and friends.

Vickey was the co-founder of Quimex, Inc. in Midlothian and worked diligently with her husband to make the company a success. She was a longtime, and very active, member of Palmer Park Baptist Church from its time in Roseland through its relocations to Dolton and eventually Frankfort, where it is now known as Lighthouse Fellowship.

Vickey found joy in simple things in life. She enjoyed fishing, going to the movie theater and getting a tub of popcorn, and trying her luck at the riverboat casinos. She loved spending time with friends and family, usually having a good laugh. Most of all, she loved every minute she was able to be with her grandbabies. Known to them as Sugarmama, Suge or Sugie, they loved spending time with her, too.

A memorial visitation will be held for Vickey at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 102 E. Francis Rd. New Lenox IL 60451 on October 16, 2021 from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM with a memorial service in the funeral home chapel at 3:00 PM. Inurnment at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages you to make a memorial donation in Vickey’s name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
